The Brooklyn Pageant Project
The Brooklyn Pageant Project brought over 60 free performances to block parties and street festivals throughout Brooklyn for two summers on a wagon that could unfold into a stage. Inspired by the original pageant plays in medieval England which made theater accessible in the public realm, the goal of the project was to build new communities through the shared experience of performance and wonder. The project received grants from the Puffin Foundation and the Brooklyn Arts Council and participated in the New York Fringe Festival.
